Sound Healing and Music Therapy

“Where words fail, music speaks.” – Hans Christian Andersen

Sound and Music is an alternative therapy that can aid in improving both physical and mental states. If music, songs and sounds cheer you up any day, consider sound and music therapy to calm your senses or to heal your body.

Music Therapy is the clinical use of various musical instruments and therapeutic techniques to aid in the healing and curing process of a person.

Sound Healing on the other hand, consists of using Tibetan singing bowls, frequency pipes, chimes, gongs, and various other instruments to lead the person into a deep relaxation.

Sound healing instruments are tuned to the 7 musical notes or different frequencies most commonly the solfeggio frequencies, which are the most powerful known healing frequencies. The sounds created through the instruments bring the person to a deeper brain wave state and balance the 7 energy centers of the body, known as chakras. Moreover, various frequencies also cater to our deeper emotional needs.

At Enable, Active Music therapy is offered for children to improve their cognitive functioning, motor skills/movement, speech, concentration/attention, emotional development, sensory and social skills, memory and calming down impulsive or aggressive behaviour.

Sound healing is offered for adolescents and adults to help with stress, anxiety, releasing/coming to terms with emotions, insomnia, relieving body pain, calming down the mind, energizing/relieving fatigue, regulating blood pressure and respiratory rate, and body and mind awareness.

You will have to come to the centre where the therapist has a set up with the musical instruments. You do not require any experience in either playing an instrument or singing. Adults can be passive recipients of the therapy where they are expected to lie down on a mat and absorb the vibrations, whereas children are made to actively participate in during the session time, too. The nature of therapy given varies from person to person and their needs.

This therapy can be provided online, too but is the most effective with taken in person. Contact us.
